It's Complicated

I couldn’t think of any better title to match the thought that’s been running through my mind since the moment I opened my eyes this morning.

Life is complicated.

Love is complicated.

Everything is complicated

It’s complicated.

But are they supposed to be? Is it supposed to be?

What makes decision-making difficult?

What makes you hold back when all you ever really wanted was to go on?

I’m not sure if you’re with me on this but I believe that one thing that holds us back to making the “supposed-to-be” right choice, and following what we know could make us happy - is FEAR.

Maybe then it’s human nature to be afraid of making the wrong choice, ending up with regrets, breaking their hearts, messing things up, and *insert your fear here*

But is it really safe to not take risks and let go of the things that are making us happy and complete all because we are afraid that it might not end up the way we wanted it to, and instead cause us pain and disappointment in the end? If all humans think this way, if you think this way, then can you say you have lived, according to the real essence of life? Can you say that you have learned life’s most important lessons? Can you say that you had the best teacher, that is, experience?

If we are all afraid of taking risks, do we have the right to complain about the opportunities that we’ve CHOSEN to miss because of not having enough courage to face the possible consequences of the decision that we should have made?

Now, think: What taught you life’s most important lessons? What molded you to be the person you are now? Are they the good experiences? Or are they the things that once broke your heart? The things that disappointed you most? The things that have caused you too much pain?

Then, think again - would you rather regret doing the things that have taught you so much learning inspite of bringing you tears? Or would you rather regret not doing the things which were supposed to teach you important lessons just because you were too afraid to take the risk?

Life is what we make it.

Life is complicated when we always let fear get in the way. Fear makes life complicated because it causes us to overthink, so to pick the safest option out of all the choices given. Fear makes life complicated because it, more often than not, causes us to miss out on big opportunities. Fear DOES NOT make anything complicated… ONLY if you can give me one good and positive impact of it in your life……. Is there any?

Life is simple when we learn to make decisions based on what would make us happy, and maybe according to what would make others happy. Life is simple when we learn to embrace the fact that we are our own hero and being a hero means having enough courage, and not being afraid to face consequences, and end up disappointed or hurt. Life is simple when we choose to believe that in our daily lives we are given a lot of options and we are not always expected to pick the best one. Life is simple when we just go with the flow. Life is simple if we never let FEAR get in the way; and we can only go away with FEAR through FAITH. So have faith in him, have faith in your self, and have faith in your decisions.

Human as I am; I have made wrong decisions more than once. Decisions that caused me pain, disappointed me, and even made me wish I could turn back time. However, I am a strong believer that life’s most important lessons are always learned the hard way. I’m a believer that everyday is a chance to live our lives the best way we can, that risks are designed to be taken, and that every risk taken is equal to every lesson learned.

So maybe, just maybe, life is gonna be simple if we live it easy and lightly. Maybe life is gonna be simple if we choose to leave worries and fears behind and put on our “always ready for anything” armor everyday of our lives, in every situation we get ourselves into, and in every step we are about to take.

So, is it really meant to be complicated? Or did you just choose to make it complicated?

After making the world pay attention to a number of talented Pinoys, Hollywood talk show host Ellen DeGeneres now highlights a certain Pinay simply known as Mindy. No surnames, just Mindy.

Unlike the other Filipino talents that have appeared on her show, this Pinay doesn’t sing. She probably can’t dance either. But from the looks of it, even she’s worthy of a single-name moniker for Hollywood. And indeed, she’s already amassed her own following.

It wasn’t explained how Mindy got the gig. Many surmise it was simply due to afterthought—one of those serendipitous moments where one happens to be at the right place at the right time. Apparently, Mindy is still supposedly the housekeeper of DeGeneres and partner Portia de Rossi.
